Sustainability has always been a core principle of SU 560, and that commitment was on display when volunteers with the Native Plant Rescue Project gathered at the development site to preserve native Texas plants before construction begins.
Working alongside Southwestern University and the SU 560 development team, volunteers collected native species and seeds that will be replanted throughout Central Texas, helping preserve local plant genetics, support wildlife habitats, conserve water, and strengthen environmental resilience. Some of the rescued plants will even help create a future native community garden in Georgetown.
The effort reflects SU 560’s broader vision of balancing thoughtful development with environmental stewardship and creating a district that honors the natural character of the land while building for the future.
